About Nexus

What is Nexus?

Nexus is a community led effort by members of Intersect (Cardano's MBO) to harness the productive power of Cardano's massive and enthusiastic community. Our mantra is "many hands make light work," and relies on community members' willingness to offer a small part of their time each week to push Cardano forward.

All roles within Nexus are unpaid, but we strive to motivate our active members through recognition, opportunities to lead and the prospect of making a real difference in the advancement of Cardano.

As on-chain governance comes online, there will be many demands on Cardano's treasury, which in turn will place some selling pressure on ADA as funds are allotted and expended. While many governance endeavors certainly will require treasury funding, we believe that much of the non-technical work that needs to be done can easily be crowdsourced from the community. In doing so, we will both preserve treasury funds, decrease selling pressure on ADA and expand opportunities for the Cardano community to meaningfully contribute to Cardano's future. Win-win-win.

Core Values

Volunteerism

We offer a small part of our time and energy freely, without any thought of reward, because we believe the mission and ethos of Cardano are worth fighting for.

Initiative and Innovation

We do not wait for others to act. If we see a task to do we try first to do it ourselves with whatever resources are available to us. We are the movers and shakers.

Prudence and Planning

We think strategically and realistically about our goals and plans, so no one's work goes to waste.

Relationship with Intersect

Nexus is a Special Interest Group (SIG) of Intersect under the Membership and Community Committee (MCC) focused on rapid execution, and accessing the enthusiasm of time-strapped and non-technical community members . The aim is to complement, not compete with, Intersect by designing this platform with casual use by normal people in mind.

We hope to work closely with Intersect working groups, committees and special interest groups, and hope they will view Nexus groups as a resource to assist them in executing  parts of their strategy.
